We do not presently accept donations from individuals. We feel other organisations are better placed to do this and rely on commercial means for our funding. We strongly recommend donations are offered instead to SENS and UMDF. The best way to support us directly is to support our sponsors! SENS is an organisation that includes a program called mitoSENS.

SENS itself is not a Mitochondria Disease charity, they are a senescence charity, however, mitoSENS is a branch of study which, if sucessful, will cure mitochondrial disease. To date, they have already produced arguably the most encouraging paper in the history of Mitochondria Disease regarding the actual rescue of cells with mitochondrial DNA mutations by allotopic expression of the corresponding proteins. More recently, they have completed the sucessfull allotopic co-expression, which is the same thing, but with more than one gene at a time.

UMDF is a more general Mitochondrial Diseases charity. They fund not only research into a cure, but research into treatments, as well as offering support to families and sufferers of mitochondrial diseases. Please consider supporting them.
